Additional Information

The 51J-4 is a General Coverage professional HF receiver, tuning 0.54 – 30.5 MHz – in 30 1-MHz bands.

The 51J can receive Continuous Wave (CW) and Amplitude Modulation (AM) transmissions.

Single-Sideband (SSB) reception can be achieved using the Beat Frequency Oscillator (BFO).

The ‘-4’ version introduced Collins Mechanical Filters to provide additional selectivity for 1.4, 3.1 and 6 KHz bandwidth.

The VFO assembly is a 70E-15 Permeability Tuned Oscillator (PTO).
