Decades of Archival Materials

The AACLA collection includes original equipment, documents and interviews that tell the story of the visionary engineering prowess of Arthur A. Collins and Collins Radio. Arthur and his company created and developed communication and navigation equipment and systems at critical times in American history including the Byrd exploration of Antarctica in the 1930s and the manned space program in the 1960s.

Wednesdays, 11:30 a.m.–1p.m., except on company holidays.

To Schedule a Tour

Contact AACLA Secretary Becky Woodword at tours@collinsstory.org and include the date, time and the number of people in your group. Tours last approximately 1 hour. Non-employee guests must be registered in the Collins Aerospace SAFE system.

Museum Location

Building 120 on the Cedar Rapids campus. Enter via the south door. Have a photo ID with you when you arrive for the tour.
